Angie Viland

A day before my very first wake surfing competition I was introduced to Jeff Wahlers. That was when I had the opportunity to demo my first Soulcraft wake surfboard. I knew from that day forward Soulcraft would be a perfect fit for me.

I started wake surfing in 2009 at Lake Pleasant in Arizona. I was hooked from the first time I could throw the rope and free surf behind the boat. My husband convinced me to start competing in 2011, and with his support and the support of Soulcraft boarding I placed 3rd at the World Championships in the Women’s Masters division.

The Soulcraft wake surfboard took my surfing to a whole new level. As my skills increased Jeff was able to help me to the next level by making small changes to follow on boards. By the end of the 2012 season I was the top female amateur rider and earned a World Championship title in the Women’s Outlaw Surf division.

In 2013 Jeff Wahlers and the Soulcraft family took my riding to the pro level. With five top 3 finishes my hope is to finish in the top ten at the World Wake Surfing Championships. I am proud to be a member of the Soulcraft family and excited to play my part as a Soulcraft team rider.
